UNACEM EC, Otavalo, Ecuador. This was a training project. Unacem’s quality lab has the equipment to analyze their clinker and were looking for training in sample preparation and interpretation. I was able to successfully train them in both sample preparation and interpretation.

August 27-31, 2018

I spent a great week at the Argos USA plant in Newberry, Florida. The session involved two days of process evaluation, including a detailed tour of their entire process system, followed by three days of sample interpretation training. The training included people from the Newberry plant as well as two of Argos’ other plants.

November 27-29, 2018

Mountain Cement, Laramie, Wyoming. This was my first visit to one of their plants. The goal of my visit was to train two of their people in sample preparation and interpretation. Unfortunately they didn’t have all of the equipment and supplies that they needed to make this visit totally productive. After some discussion with the chief chemist for the plant it was decided that we would schedule another visit in 2019 in order to finish the training.
